"Go and make disciples of all nations." Those are the words of Jesus Christ to the disciples just before His ascension into Heaven. What does that entail, making disciples of all nations? 1) Meeting the needs of the people around us in our "Jerusalem"; 2) Being intentional about extending them the invitation to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to follow Him in faithful discipleship; 3) Being intentional about training and equipping persons to be faithful disciples (students, followers, servants/ministers) of Jesus Christ; and 4) Sending faithful disciples into "Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the endos of the earth" to tell others about Jesus Christ. Discipleship is the process of teaching and learning how to be a faithful student, follower, and servant/minister of Jesus Christ. Discipleship at the South Solon Church of Christ in Christian Union is interwoven into all of our programs. We offer Sunday School classes for all ages each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM. In addition, we offer various Bible study opportunities for all ages at different times during the week. We offer an Adult Bible study, taught by our Pastor on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Our Kids for Christ (Pre-K through 5th grade), and Evangleical Christian Youth (6th through 12th grades) also meet wednesday nights at 7:00 PM. We offer small group ministries such as First Place 4 Health which meets on Monday nights at 6:30 PM, and Women of Faith. our ladies Bible study that meets Tuesday evenigns at 7:00 PM. Soon we hope to be starting two new discipleship ministries: a men's feloowship and Bible study and a fellowship and Bible study for college age students. Each summer we have a Vacation Bible School program for children Pre-K through 5th grades. This is a really fun week filled with lots of activites, fun and learning about Jesus. Contact the church office for more information about our Discipleship program and how you can be involved. |
